‘Bangabandhu's role in nature conservation unforgettable’

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin said on the contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in conservation of country's nature and environment is unforgettable, reports BSS.
"Immediately after independence, he (Bangabandhu) took various effective steps to protect the nature and environment of the country apart from reconstructing the war-torn country," he said while speaking at a discussion and doa mahfil in the city.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change arranged the function at the Forest Department on the occasion of National Mourning Day and the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The environment minister said Bangabandhu took initiatives for tree plantation, coastal conservation, afforestation, wildlife conservation, wetland, rivers and other water bodies across the country.
