Bangla-Pak foreign secy level talks today

Trade, investment and establishment of a direct shipping link are likely to figure prominently in the Bangladesh-Pakistan Foreign Secretary level meeting in the city today (Wednesday), reports UNB.
Pakistan Foreign Secretary Reaz Mohammad Khan will lead his country in the fourth round of the foreign ministry consultations taking place after two years.
The last foreign secretary-level meeting between the two countries was held in Islamabad in August 2005.
Bangladesh Foreign Secretary (In-charge) Touhid Hossain will lead the home side.
During the meeting, Pakistan may raise the issue of signing a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA), about which Bangladesh has no reservation.
Dhaka and Islamabad also feel the need of a direct shipping link between Dhaka and Karachi ports to accelerate business activities.
