BanglaBiz 2.0 launched for seamless investor services

New digital platform promises faster and more transparent services

FE REPORT | Monday, 2 February 2026

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), launched BanglaBiz 2.0 on Sunday, in a significant step towards enhancing the ease of doing business and attracting both domestic and foreign investment.
This upgraded digital platform aims to simplify business registration and regulatory approvals through a single online gateway, enhancing the efficiency of the investment process.
First introduced on 28 September 2025, BanglaBiz was initially launched as an information portal connecting the One Stop Service (OSS) systems of various investment promotion agencies, including BIDA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), and the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
The second phase of the platform, BanglaBiz 2.0, expands its capabilities, transforming it into a fully integrated end-to-end service portal.
This update includes the introduction of a Business Starter Package, which integrates five essential approvals -- name clearance, temporary bank account opening, company incorporation, e-TIN, and trade licence -- into a single application process. As a result, investors can complete business registration within just three working days.
More than 20 frequently required approvals, such as environmental clearance, VAT registration, factory and fire safety licences, and import and export registration certificates, have also been integrated into the system.
The platform also introduces the "Know Your Approvals" (KYA) feature to help investors identify sector-specific regulatory requirements, while the 'Relationship Manager Connect' service offers tailored support.
BanglaBiz 2.0 also features a unique BanglaBiz ID (BBID), designed to streamline business profile management and application tracking across agencies, paving the way for a unified business identification system nationwide.
Another feature is Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality, which enables seamless access to multiple OSS platforms using a single set of credentials.
Speaking at the launch event at BIDA's head office in Dhaka, Chief Adviser's Special Envoy for International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi stressed the importance of user-centric digital government services, arguing that true digitalisation requires simplifying processes rather than merely automating them.
He cited Estonia's e-residency model as a global benchmark for efficient business registration and digital governance.
JICA's Chief Representative in Bangladesh, Tomohide Ichiguchi, said investors have long demanded faster, predictable and transparent government services.
