Saturday, 13 June 2015

Bangladesh faced batting jolt as they lost their three top orders batsmen in the first session of the fourth day's play as they scored 111 for 3 in 30.1 overs at lunch in the one- off Test at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah area of Narayanganj district. But, the main concern is that rain continued to spoilsports on the fourth day's play and the fate of the match almost produces a tame draw. Earlier, in the morning, the hosts were sent to bat by India after the touring side decided not to continue batting and declared their first innings at 462 for 6. Bangladesh lost their first wicket of opener Tamim Iqbal for 19 runs off Robindra Ashwin's delivery while Mominul gave an easy catch to Umesh Yadav off Harbhajan Shingh. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim failed to impress with bat as he dismissed cheaply for 2 runs giving a catch to Rohit Sharma off Ashwin delivery. Another opener Imrul Kayes kept the other side intact with a patient 59 runs and Shaik Al Hasan (0) joined with him as rain again forced to stop the play minutes before the lunch break. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bagged two wickets conceding 30 runs while Harbhajan took one wicket giving away 23 runs. The venue is still covered and there is no possibility to start the second session of play in schedule time, according to a news agency.
