Bangladesh A beat England Lions by six wickets

Bangladesh A team took 1-0 lead in the five-match one-day series beating visiting England Lions, the second string English side, by six wickets in the first one-day limited over match Sunday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, England Lions were all out for 139 runs in 39 overs with middle order Joseph Buttler scoring 45 runs off 81 balls that included three fours and a six.
Wicket-keeper Jonathan Baristow (22), Scott Borthwick (17), James Vince (14) and Jason Roy (10) were the other English scorers who reached double figures.
Al Amin and Nur Hossain claimed three wickets each conceding 18 and 32 runs respectively.
In reply, the 2nd string Bangladesh team easily reached their target scoring 141 runs in 33 overs for the loss of four wickets with national opener Imrul Kayes contributing match highest 53 runs off 83 balls that featured six boundaries.
National vice-captain Mahmudullah Riyad scored not out 38 runs off 42 balls with six fours while opener Rony Talukder and one down Jahurul Islam added useful 23 and 22 runs respectively.
Nathan Buck and Danni Briggs took two wickets each.
The 2nd and 3rd one-day matches between the two sides will be held on January 10 and 13 at the same venue while the 4th and 5th matches will be held January 16 and 18 at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium.
Earlier, in a preparatory match, England Lions earned a four-wicket victory over Bangladesh Eleven at the same venue on Friday.
