Friday, 3 October 2014
BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged all to remain alert so that no one can make petty gains by harming the country’s religious harmony. ‘Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are living here together in peace for thousands of years. We all must be aware so that our ties and harmony remain intact,’ he said while visiting the Dhakeshwari Temple to greet the Hindu community on the occasion of Durga Puja. Mirza Alamgir said there can be different opinions and views in politics, but no one should make any comment which hurts the religious belief and sentiment of any community. Earlier, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad president Kajal Debnath and Mohanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee president JL Bhowmik welcomed the BNP acting Secretary General as he reached the national temple, according to a news agency.
