Kazi Farms Group has set a new milestone for the country's poultry industry and export sector by exporting hatching eggs for the first time.
The company has shipped its first trial consignment of 10,000 hatching eggs to Nigeria, says a press statement.
The consignment was dispatched in an Emirates Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday. The initiative marks a significant step toward diversifying the country's agricultural exports.
The exported hatching eggs were produced at Kazi Farms Group's broiler grandparent farm in Panchagarh under stringent international-standard biosecurity measures.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services Md Shahjaman Khan, and Kazi Farms Group Managing Director Kazi Zahedul Hasan were present at a ceremony marking the shipment of the eggs held at the airport's Cargo Village.
