Bangladesh and Vietnam, as champions of group B and A, qualified for the Group-3 of Davis Cup Asia Oceania Zone after the Group-4 matches at the Ramna National Tennis Complex in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh and Vietnam will take part in the Group-3 competition to be held in Dhaka in 2010.
In the day's group B matches, Shibu Lal of Bangladesh lost to Maung Nge Hnaung of Myanmar 4-6, 4-6 in the first singles, but country's number one player Amol Roy confirmed the Bangladesh victory defeating Aung Kyaw Naine of Myanmar 6-1, 6-3 in the second singles.
Bangladesh pair Ranjan Ram & Shibu Lal won the doubles crown defeating Maung Nge Hnaung and Min of Myanmar 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
In the group A, Vietnam beat UAE by 2-1 sets to confirm their group-3 participation.
