Bangladesh and India are likely to take up the longstanding bilateral issues like trade imbalance, border demarcation, water sharing and security concerns for a negotiated solution when the foreign secretaries (FSs) of the two countries open talks in Dhaka on June 25. Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Sankar Menon arrives on June 24 (Sunday) to lead his country to the two-day talks. Foreign Secretary-in-charge Touhid Hossain will lead the host side. The FS-level consultation takes place after a gap of over two years. — UNB
