Bangladesh Ansar beat Jhenidah DSA

Bangladesh Ansar started their Spectra Group National Women's Kabaddi campaign with a festive mood as they outclassed Jhenidah DSA by 47-3 goals with eight creditable lonas in the opening match at the Kabaddi Stadium Sunday morning, reports UNB.In another match, Narail DSA earned an exciting 30-28 goals victory over Gaibandha DSA with one lona at the same venue, also in the morning.

In the day's other matches in the afternoon, Bangladesh Ansar crushed Narail DSA by 63-13 goals with four lonas, while Rajshahi DSA notched an easy 37-17 win over Faridpur DSAs with two lonas.

Earlier, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Kutubuddin Ahmed inaugurated the four-day final round in the afternoon although the competition started in the morning.

BOA CEO Col (retd) M Wali Ullah, Kabaddi Federation General Secretary M Nazrul Islam and tournament committee chairman Rowshan Ara Chhobi were present on the occasion.

There will be five matches today (Monday).

Seven teams, split into two groups, are initially competing on league basis matches in the final round.

Participating teams:

Group A: Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Gaibandha, Narail and Jhenidah DSAs.

Group B: Rajshahi, Faridpur and Jamalpur DSAs.

Later, two top teams from each group will play in the semi-finals on July 29. The final match will be held on July 30.
