FE REPORT
The extended meeting of Bangladesh Bar Council was held at the the Bar Council Bhaban office in the capital on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Bangladesh Bar Council Executive Committee Chairman Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal said, "As the chairman of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Bar Council, I constantly receive complaints from lawyers, which is alarming."
He added, "While we demand laws for our protection, people also expect lawyers to always uphold ethics, integrity, efficiency, and professionalism."
Barrister Ruhul further said, "Recently, two incidents have come to light involving lawyers. One took place in Patuakhali, where a judge accused a Public Prosecutor (PP) of attempting to bribe him. The other concerns the torture of two domestic workers at a lawyer's residence, for which a case has already been filed. The Bar Council will not tolerate such activities any longer."
