Bangladesh Women's team made an auspicious start in the Asian Games Women's Cricket crushing Hong Kong by 10 wickets in a Pool B match at the Guanggong Cricket Stadium in the Chinese City of Guangzhou Sunday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, Hong Kong were bundled out cheaply for 25 runs in 17.1 overs.
Opener Kanwardeep Gill scored 11 runs off 39 balls while Mariko Aota Hill and Ling Li Kai made four runs each.
Chamely Khatun of Bangladesh grabbed two wickets for four runs while Tithi Rani Sarker took one wicket, also conceding four runs. The other seven wickets of Hong Kong were victims of run out.
In reply, Bangladesh eves cantered to their target of 26 runs in 3.4 overs without losing any wicket.
Farjana Haque Pinky contributed match highest run-a-ball 17 with a boundary while Rumana Ahmed scored one run off 5 balls. Extras contributed 2nd highest 8 runs for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh eves will play their next group match against Nepal today (Monday) at the same venue.
