Bangladesh beat Pakistan 3-0 in home match of World Cup pre-qualifier

Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 3-0 goals in their home match of the World Cup pre qualifier at the rain-soaked Bangabandhu National Stadium under floodlight Wednesday, reports UNB.
In the day's match, striker Zahid Hasan Emily, Zahid Hossain and Rezaul Karim scored one goal each for Bangladesh, which led the first half by 2-0 goals.
The Bangladesh team will leave for Pakistan tomorrow (Thursday) to play their away match in Lahore on July 3.
Bangladesh found the net in the very beginning of the 1st minute. Famed striker Zahid Hasan Emily after taking a pass from Raju, sent the ball home with a right footer giving no chance to Pakistani custodian cum skipper Jaffar on the slippery ground (1-0).
Bangladesh again came close to scoring in the 14th minute, but a shot taken by Emily off Zahid pass went out of play beside the side bar.
Medio Zahid doubled the margin for Bangladesh in the 22nd minute with a powerful shot from 30 yards from goal line off a pass from Mamun Mia at mid field (2-0)
Bangladesh deprived of another goal in the 38th minute when Mamun Mia's well judged shot from the top of the D-box was gripped by Pakistani custodian Jaffar, who faced hurdle to do his job properly under the bar due to water-logged pitch following incessant rain.
After the resumption, defender Rezaul further widened the margin for Bangladesh in the 56th minute with a lofted shot from inside the danger zone off a left wing minus from substitute Mithun (3-0).
It was difficult for any team to play normal game in the slippery ground, but Bangladesh clearly dominated the whole proceeding by playing excellent football that entertained the local crowd, who came to the stadium to support their team defying heavy rain in the evening.
Although the host side produced series of attacks in the beginning of the match, but they also missed at least a dozen easy scoring chances.
Talking to the reporters after the match Bangladesh skipper Biplob Bhattacharjee said it was the result of total team effort.
He also hoped that his team will maintain winning run in their away match against Pakistan in Lahore on July 3.
Bangladesh team's new coach Nikola Ilievski expressed his happiness over his boys' performance on the day as well as the day's outcome of team.
Replying to a question the Bangladeshi coach also expressed his hope to win their away match against Pakistan in Lahore.
Pakistani coach Tariq Lutfi said they lost the match because of unplayable condition of the ground due to rain.
"I told the match referee to stop the play before starting of the match as the ground was heavy due to rain and I also tried to communicate the match commissioner regarding the matter but he was out of the reach," he said.
The Pakistani coach said they would also put a written allegation to FIFA and match commissioner regarding the condition of the ground.
