Bangladesh beat Pakistan in SAFF soccer

Bangladesh have put one foot in SAFF Championship semifinals with a victory over Pakistan in their second Group A match, report agencies.
Topu Barman, who had scored once in the 2-0 win against Bhutan, added another goal to his tally in this tournament with a header in the 85th minute of the match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday.
Bangladesh and Pakistan played out goalless first-half in their Group 'A' second match of the seven-nation SAFF Suzuki Cup.
Bangladesh started to play a forceful game after 10 minutes and made an attempt in the 29th minute as forward Saad Uddin's right-footed long shot from the left flank went high and wide to the left off a Topu Barman pass.
The host side continued pressing game and missed two chances as midfielder Masuk Miah Zoni's right-footed shot from outside the box was blocked by Pakistani defence in the 40th before forward Mahbubur Rahman's right footed shot from more than 35 yards missed out to the left.
