Bangladesh becomes UN Women body member

Bangladesh became a member of the Executive Board of United Nations (UN) Women for two years (2011-2012) by securing the highest votes in an election held in the UN headquarters in New York Wednesday.
All 54 members of the UN Women body cast their votes in the election in favour of Bangladesh, according to a message received in Dhaka Thursday, reports BSS.
