Bangladesh booters went down fighting against Malaysian Club Negeri Sembilan as their practice match ended in 2-3 goals at the Tunku Abdur Rahman Stadium, Malaysia Monday, reports BSS.
A BFF source informed the agency Monday the national football team is in Malaysia to take in a practice match as part of preparation ahead of the SAFF Championship which begins from December 2 in Delhi.
Both the teams took their time to settle down but it was the former Malaysian Premier League champion surged ahead through Emmanuel in the 25th minute. Bangladesh restored parity in the 44th minutes of the proceedings as midfielder Shahed found the back net for Bangladesh in the 44th minute.
Malaysians pressed hard and Negeri Sembilan skipper Shukur Bin Adan scored two goals in a span of three minutes to take match away from Bangladesh in the 63rd and 65th minutes.
Malek, the U-19 forward, reduced the margin for national team in the 87th minute.
After the match, national team head coach Nikola Ilievski said he noted some faults in his team's defence side during the play.
"Negeri Sembilan is a strong side and put pressure on our defence. they took the advantage as our defenders made some costly and silly mistakes," he said.
However, at the end of the day, the result is not so bad, said the Macedonian.
Bangladesh team will return home today (Tuesday).
