Bangladesh seemed crashing out of the 3rd Grand Royal Challenge Cup tournament after conceding a 2-0 goal defeat to Indonesia in their crucial second group A match at the Thuawana Youth Training Football Stadium in Yangon Thursday, reports UNB.
They conceded both the goals in the first half, according to a message received in Dhaka in the evening. It was a must-win situation for Bangladesh in their match against Indonesia to keep the semifinal berth alive. Bangladesh earlier held strong Myanmar to a goalless draw in their opening Group match.
Now Bangladesh will have to wait for the result of the last group A match between Indonesia and Myanmar on Nov 16. Bangladesh will have a chance to qualify for the semifinal only if Indonesia beat Myanmar by 3-0 margin.
