Bangladesh businessman killed in S Africa

Unknown assailants shot a Bangladeshi businessman to death in South Africa. The deceased was identified as Salauddin Babu, 26, a businessman and son of Mustafa Chowdhury, a resident of Kaunia village of Faridganj Upazila in Chandpur district. Babu owns a shop in Johannesburg, a commercially important city in South Africa. Family sources some unidentified miscreants had been demanding illegal toll money from the expatriate Bangladeshi in the last several months which he refused. Angered by the refusal they swooped on Babu and shot him around 9:00 (local time) on Tuesday while he was returning home from his shop in Johannesburg. Babu died on the way to a local hospital. One of the relatives of victim said Babu left for Johannesburg 2 years ago and set up the business establishment there, according to a news agency.
