Representatives from the Bangladesh garment industry will take part in the Bangladesh Clothing Show, 2010 in London in September to boost sourcing relationships with buyers from the UK and EU.
The two-day long event scheduled on September 27 to 28 is expected to accommodate 80 Bangladeshi apparel companies.
The clothing show venue "Hilton London Metropole" Hotel and Conference Centre, Edgware Road London is one of the key location in central London surrounded by corporate, lifestyle retailers, fashion scorners and many tourist attractions, organizers said.
The event will provide an opportunity for buyers to network with Bangladeshi clothing companies, and for suppliers to meet with potential customers of machinery, chemicals and raw materials, local representative of the organizing group GenX UK Limited Rubaiyat Ahsan told the FE.
"It would be an international platform to bring the UK and European buyers and world-class Bangladesh producers and suppliers under one roof," Mr Ahsan said.
Opportunities in the event include face-to-face meetings, as well as the potential to explore new markets and establish sourcing or sales leads. Bangladeshi firms are also keen to convey their sustainability stance and will be able to discuss compliance and the elimination of child labour.

Companies visiting from Bangladesh are said to include readymade garment and knitwear manufacturers, textile producers, agencies, exporters, design houses and logistics companies.

"We are receiving an impressive response from all potential participants," officials from the organizer said. They expected a fruitful event in foreign land that aims to promote Bangladeshi apparel export to Europe and beyond.

The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC), British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) have also offered their support.
