Bangladesh crush UAE by 10 wickets in ACC women's cricket

Bangladesh women's team made a flying start in the first Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women's Cricket Tournament with a 10-wicket win over United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an opening day match at the Institute Perguruan Temenggong Ibrahim in Johor Baru, Malaysia in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
Coin-favoured Bangladesh, the lone representative of the test-playing nations in the ACC meet, sent the UAE team to bat first and summarily dismissed them for just 9 runs in 9 overs with stunning pace attack by Panna Ghosh and Sharmin Akhter.
Panna Ghosh bowled devastatingly to grab five wickets conceding six runs in five overs with one maiden while another pacer Sharmin Akhter took three wickets for two runs in four overs with three maidens.
In reply, Bangladesh eves reached their target of 10 runs in just 1.2 overs without losing any wicket. Chameli Khatun made unbeaten 6 and captain Tajkia Akter scored not out 1.
Bangladesh will face Singapore in their 2nd match on July 13.
