Bangladesh elected Unicef board member

Bangladesh has been elected as member of the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef)’s executive board for the next three years. The foreign ministry said the membership was announced on Wednesday after UN member states voted Bangladesh unanimously. Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN AK Abdul Momen has expressed gratitude to the UN members. He credited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government’s efforts to improve maternal and child health for the recognition. Bangladesh is currently active in more than 40 committees of the UN, according to the foreign ministry, according to bdnews24.com.
