Bangladesh elected Vice- President of 17th NAM

Bangladesh has been elected Vice President of the 17th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) conference being held in Algiers, the capital city of Algeria.
The four-day 17th conference started on Monday and will continue till Thursday, said an official release Wednesday, according to a news agency.
The Foreign Minister of Algeria inaugurated the two-day senior official- level meeting followed by a two-day high-level ministerial conference.
Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Dr AK Abdul Momen led Bangladesh to the senior official-level negotiation while Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali was leading the ministerial conference. Set up in 1961, NAM now has 121 member states.
