Bangladesh envoy presents credentials to Italian President

Newly appointed Bangladesh ambassador to Italy Masud Bin Momen has presented his credentials Friday to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano at historic Quirinale Palace, reports UNB.
A release from Bangladesh mission in Rome said the Ambassador briefed Italian President about various initiatives taken by the caretaker Government towards holding a free and fair election in December.
He highlighted Bangla-desh's achievements in socio-economic areas in recent years. The Italian President hoped initiatives of the caretaker government including holding of parliamentary elections on December 18 would further strengthen democratic process in Bangladesh.
President Napolitano praised Bangladesh for religious harmony prevailing in the country and termed Bangladesh a role model of a moderate Muslim country. The Italian President appreciated the useful contribution of the expatriate Bangladeshis to Italy.
