Bangladesh face Maldives in last group match today
Tuesday, 6 December 2011
Bangladesh will face Maldives in their last group B match of the SAFF Championship that will be held today (Tuesday) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, reports UNB.
The match kicks off at 3:30 pm (BST).
Bangladesh's hope of playing semifinal has almost been shattered as they secured only one point from their last two encounters. Even a win in the last group match does not ensure the semifinal berth for Bangladesh.
If Bangladesh is able to beat Maldives in the last group match on Tuesday and Nepal to beat Pakistan or at-least settle for a draw, then Bangladesh can move up.
If Pakistan beat Nepal on Tuesday, then Bangladesh will have the opportunity to make a semifinal berth by goal differences and considering other criteria.
Earlier, Bangladesh played to a goalless draw with Pakistan in their group opening match and conceded a solitary goal defeat to Nepal in the second match.
