Bangladesh for planning policies to utilise natural resources properly

Bangladesh in the Group 77 (G-77) meeting to be held in Tarija, Bolivia between tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday will call upon the member countries to formulate policies and related laws on priority basis for the proper utilisation of natural resources.
It will also discuss how natural resources can be explored, utilised and managed properly apart from taking policies for rapid industrialisation.
It will also seek initiatives to have a strong partnership among member states for the benefit of developing nations through ensuring governance of natural resources.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu is scheduled to attend the meeting of the Ministers on Governance of Natural Resources and Industrialisation of the G-77, according to a senior official at the industries ministry, reports UNB.
Bolivia and China are jointly organising the event in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to analyse development challenges in the sector and the management of natural resources.
Industries, finance and energy and mineral resources ministers of G-77 countries will take part in the meeting.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will also highlight the steps so far taken by the government for protecting and using the existing natural resources.
According to the organisers, the meeting will discuss the management of natural resources and sustainable development, income derived from natural resources and redistribution, property rights, and international negotiations and arbitrage.
Also to be discussed at the forum are structural change and diversification based on natural resources, the impact of the industrialisation of natural resources on local development and how this issue affects industrialisation models.
