Bangladesh hands over relief materials to Japan

Bangladesh has handed over relief materials to the Japanese authorities, reports BSS. Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan AKM Majibur Rahman Bhuiyan accompanied by embassy officials handed over the relief goods to the Japanese officials on March 31, according to a message received in Dhaka Saturday. The emergency humanitarian assistance includes 2,000 blankets, 500 rubber boots and 1,000 rubber gloves. While receiving the relief materials, Japanese officials thanked the Bangladesh government for the friendly gesture. The Bangladesh ambassador also reiterated Bangladesh government's commitment to stand by the friendly people of Japan. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni sent messages of sympathy and condolences to their Japanese counterparts. A four-member Bangladesh delegation led by Monirul Islam, director general (East Asia & Pacific Wing) of the Foreign Ministry, visited Tokyo along with the consignment, the release said.
