A Bangladeshi-origin advisor to US President Barak Obama sees bright prospects for Bangladesh and says concerted efforts of all can make the country progress further. N Nina Ahmad, a member of Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs), has said that she thought that it was high time for making efforts for progress and prosperity of Bangladesh. Obama nominated Nina Ahmad as the 1st Bangladeshi to his 14-member advisory commission on AAPIs on April 26 this year. Nina Ahmad said she wanted to see Bangladesh in ‘a more established and respected position’. Ahmad said she wanted to work for Bangladeshi people from a broader perspective. She said she thought about Bangladesh’s welfare and worked for the wellbeing of expatriate Bangladeshis. Ahmad said she was already looking into what Bangladesh and Bangladeshi community in the USA needed. She, however, refused comment on Bangladesh’s politics, according to bdnews24.com.
