Bangladesh ICT-Expo kicks off Monday

Bangladesh ICT-Expo-2015 is set to kick off Monday at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) to promote local hardware industry in efforts to transform Bangladesh into a leading manufacturing country.
"As part of our massive digitization campaign, we are giving emphasis on developing local hardware industry to make it an important partner of building Digital Bangladesh by 2021," State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak told a press conference at the BICC Sunday.
The three-day Bangladesh ICT-Expo is the largest hardware exposition in the country, he said adding, "We are going to organize the mega hardware based show set to begin tomorrow as part of our successful continuation of last year's Digital World to give a further boost to the vision to build a technology advanced country."
ICT Division and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) in cooperation with different local and international ICT companies are jointly organizing the ICT-Expo aiming to popularize local hardware brands at both local and international levels, a BSS report said.
President Abdul Hamid is expected to inaugurate the Bangladesh ICT-Expo-2015 tomorrow at 12 noon.
A total of 20 seminars and sessions will be held during the three-day ICT expo, where nearly 150 IT experts and top officials of different foreign companies will participate. As many as 15 speakers from foreign countries will also speak at different sessions and workshops.
Over 100 stalls and 35 pavilions will be set up at the ICT-Expo and it will remain open from 10am to 8pm every day.
