Bangladesh-India joint effort needed to combat terrorism

Speakers at a discussion said terrorism would be eliminated from Bangladesh and India, if the two countries work together.
The discussion on 'Bangabandhu, Bangladesh O Indira Gandhi' was organised jointly by Sadhana Sangsad and Jatiya Ganotantrik League at the Shamsul Haque Chowdhury Auditorium of Bangladesh Supreme Court Ainjibi Samity in the city Wednesday.
Textiles and Jute Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui addressed the discussion as chief guest, reports BSS.
Prof Muntasir Mamun of Dhaka University, secretary of Bangladesh Supreme Court Ainjibi Samity SM Rezaul Karim, general secretary of National Awami Party Abdul Matin Master, acting secretary of Bangladesh Krishak League Advocate Khandaker Shamsul Haque Reza, president of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Ainjibi Parishad Advocate Khandaker Shamsul Alam and president of Jatiya Ganotantrik League MA Jalil, among others, participated in the discussion.
President of Sadhana Sangsad Advocate Kazi M Sajawar Hossain presided over the function.
Latif Siddiqui paid rich tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and said that she had sent, during the war of liberation, her forces to join the freedom fighters to fight against occupation forces. "Her cooperation helped us achieve independence," he said.
