The 20th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Insurance Association was held in the city recently.
Bangladesh Insurance Association Chairman AMK Raflqul Islam presided over the meeting.
United Insurance Chairman M Moyeedul Islam, National Life Insurance Chairman M Haider Chowdhury, Eastland Insurance Chairman Mahbubur Rahman, Bangladesh Insurance Association Vice Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Green Delta Insurance Managing Director Nasir A Choudhury, Provati Insurance Chairman Joarder Nowsher Ali and Eastland Insurance Managing Director M Azmal Hoque were also present on the occasion.
In the annual report, it was stated that the total premium earning from private sector life insurance companies rose from Tk 18,410.45 million in 2005 to Tk. 24,576.11 million in 2006 registering a growth of 33.49 per cent.
