"Bangladesh is the living memorial to the sacrifice made together by the valiant Muktibahini and the Allied Force of Indian Army during the war of liberation in 1971."
Chief of the Indian Army General Deepak Kapoor made the observation while talking to Secretary General of BCS Freedom Fighters and Mujibnagar Officers'-Employees' Welfare Association Muhammad Musa at a city hotel Tuesday.
The Indian Army Chief recalled his war days in Comilla front in 1971, while he was fighting as G-3 Officer of Phantom Brigade (61 Brigade) and praised highly the heroism displayed by the freedom fighters to liberate their motherland from the occupation force, said a press release.
