Bangladesh joins plane search

Saturday, 15 March 2014

Bangladesh has joined the international community in searching a Malaysian jet which has been ‘missing’ for a week. Two patrol aircraft and as many frigates will be deployed to assist the international community in tracing the Malaysian missing aircraft from Saturday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Friday directed the authorities concerned to assist the international community in the search operation for the missing plane from Saturday morning. The Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, with 239 people on board, dropped off air traffic control screens somewhere on Malaysia-Vietnam border at about 1:30am on March 8, less than an hour into a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It is one of the most baffling mysteries in the history of modern aviation as there has been no trace of the plane since nor any sign of wreckage despite a search by navies and military aircraft of over a dozen countries across Southeast Asia, according to a news agency.
