Bangladesh look upon UK as friend, partner, says Foreign Adviser

Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said Bangladesh has always appreciated "our relations with the UK and see that country as a friend and partner."
Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury made the observation when visiting UK Minister Jim Fitzpatrick called on him at the Foreign Ministry in the city Thursday reports UNB.
Later, speaking to the media, Dr Iftekhar said the ties between the two countries are historical and involved political, economic, cultural, educational and sporting relations.
He said: "I understand Fitzpatrick is visiting Sylhet. I thanked him for the British support for the planned Catering Institute project in Sylhet that will help supply chefs for the thousands of expatriate Bangladeshi restaurants in the UK."
