Bangladesh lose to Jordan

Bangladesh national women's football conceded a 0-5 defeat to Jordan in the three-team Group G match of the AFC Women's Asian Cup Sunday, reports UNB.
Jordan put Bangladesh down by two goals in the first half at the Bunyodkor Football Stadium in the Uzbek capital Tashkent.
Captain Maysha Ziad Jbarah scored three goals for Jordan in the 62nd, 67th and 77th minutes, while Shahnaz Jebreen and Bana Zaid Al Bitar added one each in the 35th and 45th minutes.
Earlier, chairperson of BFF women's wing Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, who is now in Uzbekistan, announced a special award for the Bangladesh team - $3,000 for a win and $1000 for a draw.
The Bangladesh team will play against Iran Wednesday at the same time and same venue.
Only the group champions will qualify for the final round of the AFC Women's Asian Cup in India next year.
Before arriving in Uzbekistan, Bangladesh women's team played two FIFA tier-1 international football friendlies against Nepal in Kathmandu recently as part of their preparations for this month's AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.
The visitors conceded a 1-2 defeat in the first match and played a goalless draw in the second match.
Bangladesh national women's team returned to international football after more than two and a half years with the matches after playing the semifinal of the SAFF Championship against India in March 2019.
