Bangladesh notch record 13-0 goals win over Thailand

Bangladesh made a flying start in the 7th Men's Asia Cup Hockey with a record 13-0 goals win over Thailand in their first group match on the opening day in Chennai, India Friday, reports UNB.
This is the biggest margin victory for Bangladesh at international level.
Forward Russell Mahmud Jimmy scored four goals (10th, 19th, 67th and 69th minutes) to be adjudged man of the match.
Mohammad Mamun (52nd and 62nd minutes), Zahidul Islam (40th and 59th) and Iqbal Nader (39th and 45th minutes) netted two goals each while skipper Issa Mia (55th minute), Kh. Hasan (24th minute) and Zahid Bin Talib (4th minute) scored one goal apiece for the winners, who led the first half 4-0.
Bangladesh will play their second group match against strong China today (Saturday), the 3rd against Sri Lanka on September 3, the 4th against India on September 4 and the 5th and last group match against Korea on September 6.
The final match of the competition will be held on September 9.
