Bangladesh ranks 103rd in global prosperity index

Bangladesh ranks 103rd among 142 countries in the 2015 Prosperity Index, prepared by London-based Legatum Institute, having risen by one step from that of last year.
The index revealed on Thursday globally put Norway atop for the seventh year followed by Switzerland, Denmark, New Zealand and Sweden, rounding up the top five in that order.
The Central African Republic is the lowest-ranked country in the index.
In the South Asia region Sri Lanka is at the top of the list. It is ranked 61st globally. Nepal was ranked 89th, India 99th, Pakistan 130th and Afghanistan 141st in the index.
