Bangladesh receives $10m spot orders

The four-day Bangladesh Single Country Trade Fair in Malaysia has fetched huge spot order and enthusiastic responses.
The participating service and manufacturing companies have received order worth about US$ 10 million, said a press release.
Among the participating commercial banks, National Bank Limited (NBL) has received permission from the central bank of Malaysia to open an exchange house there.
Initially, the bank will open four branches in different places of Malaysia, NBL Managing Director Abdur Rahman Sarkar said.
Pubali Bank Limited has finalised remittance agreement with three leading exchange houses in Kuala Lumpur.
After obtaining permission from Bangladesh Bank, the bank will execute the agreements, Pubali Bank Managing Director Helal Ahmed Chowdhury said.
NCC Bank Managing Director Nurul Amin said that they had also finalised remittance deal with three renowned exchange companies of Malaysia, which would be executed after getting permission from Bangladesh Bank.
AB Bank Limited has also finalised similar deals with several remittance companies in Malaysia.
Golden Life Insurance Limited has signed re-insurance agreement with Asia Re-takaful Company of Malaysia.
Golden Life Insurance DMD Jamal Mohammed Abu Naser and Assistant Managing Director Nurul Amin signed the agreement in addition to underwriting a good number of policies of expatriate Bangladeshis.
Meghna Life Insurance has recruited a good number of agents and underwritten hundreds of policies.
A 16-member marketing team led by the company's Chairman Nizamuddin Ahmed in stayed Malaysia until June 20 for market promotion drive.
Prime Islami Life Insurance has also made a good number of policies in the fair.
