Bangladesh replaces contingent in UN's Liberia mission

Bangladesh is replacing its army contingent in United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), reports UNB.
Under this programme, the first batch of 264-member army team, led by Brig Gen Jalal, left Dhaka by a UN chartered plane Thursday night.
A media team also left Dhaka for Liberia by the same flight.
Replacement programme will be completed in different phases by 20 April 2008. A total of 2,381 army personnel of different ranks will be replaced while 2,381 will return home after successful completion of their tenure, said an ISPR release Friday.
