‘Bangladesh role model of women empowerment’

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said Bangladesh has become a role model of women empowerment in the fields of politics and economy, reports BSS.
"Because of the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the advancement of women will remain as a milestone," she said as she paid a courtesy call on President of the House of Representatives, Belgium Siegfried Bracke at the Belgium parliament on Friday.
Chaudhury said Bangladesh parliament speaker, parliament leader and prime minister, deputy leader of the parliament and opposition leader- all are women.
In the Jatiya Sangsad, there are 73 women parliament members, she added. Chaudhury said women are playing important role in different sectors of the country including administration, judiciary and army.
