Bangladesh outplayed Turkmenistan by straight 3-0 sets in the BNP-Paribas Davis Cup Asia Oceania Zone Group-4 match on the 2nd day at the Ramna National Tennis Complex in Dhaka Thursday, reports UNB.
Shibu Lal of Bangladesh beat Jamshid Ilmuradov of Turkmenistan by 6-1, 6-1 games in the first singles while Amol Roy confirmed the Bangladesh's victory defeating Eziz Davletov of Turkmenistan by 6-2, 6-4 in the 2nd singles in the morning.
Bangladeshi pair Shibu Lal and Ranjan Ram won the doubles match beating Eziz Davletov and Bahtiyar Atabaev by 6-1, 6-3 in the afternoon to crush Turkmenistan by 3-0 sets.
In the day's other matches, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) beat Bahrain by 2-1 sets,
Jordan defeated Myanmar also by 2-1 sets while Vietnam got walkover against Iraq
at the same venue.
Today's matches: Bahrain vs Yemen (Group A), UAE vs Iraq (Group-A),
Qatar vs Jordan (Group-B), Myanmar vs Turkmenistan (Group-B).
