Bangladesh Science Society for development of life skills

Bangladesh Science Society, one of the leading science organisations of Bangladesh, has covenanted with Praekelt Foundation, a South Africa based non-profit organisation. With a view to conveying science related knowledge and work-field information to the people of Bangladesh, these two organisations have tied up their knots. Bangladesh Science Society (BSS) has made preliminary agreement. Now BSS team is carrying out technical tasks after which every Bangladeshi people will be able to browse the website and its contents without any cost through freebasics.com and the smartphone app, 'Free Basics', powered by PraekeIT Foundation.
Bangladesh Science Society is the first in Bangladesh and second in South Asia to be affiliated with Praekelt Foundation. Free facebook facility is provided by the joint venture of Praekelt Foundation and Facebook.
With the dream of a self-reliant Bangladesh, Bangladesh Science Society, a non-profit organisation, started operation in 2015. Its aim is to evolve a developed and technically skillful generation who will implement their knowledge and creativity to flourish the technological advancement of Bangladesh. Regarding this goal, Bangladesh Science Society has been organising science programmes and campaigns in different schools throughout the country to make the students interested in practicing science.
Bangladesh Science Society has several other programmes for students such as - Career Discussion Programme named- 'Aglow', book distribution programme, science related competitions and projects.
Bangladesh Science Society has their own publication firm titled 'BSS Publications'. This organisation also carries out 'Prajjwalan', a programme for the underprivileged children.
Praekelt foundation started its journey in 2007 as a sister concern of Praekelt Consulting. It mainly focuses on the health, education, employment and social security of the developing countries. To convey efforts of organisations regarding  social security of mass people, Praekelt Foundation offers free internet to people with their 'Free Basics' platform. Since establishment, Praekelt Foundation has spread out their help in 10 countries of the world.
The president of Bangladesh Science Society Suman Saha said, "At present Bangladesh Science Society is a community of 267 members around the country. Getting tied up with Free Basics Platform with the help of Praekelt Foundation has driven up a step ahead to achieve our ultimate target. However, the way to achieve this opportunity through their tight selection was not too smooth. We hope to provide millions of people in our country with urgent messages, employment, health care and education easily through mobile at free of cost, which will benefit the whole Bangladesh. I believe we can proceed further in our vision of Digital Bangladesh in such way."
