Bangladesh sent to bat

Bangladesh have been sent to bat first by five times Asian champions India in their first match in the Asia Cup cricket tournament at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah in Narayanganj district on Wednesday afternoon. India won the toss and decided to bowl. Hosta Bangladesh will miss the services of two key players – opener Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan - who were left out of the match. Tamim remains out of the match due to injury while Shakib due to a three-match ban he received for indecent gesture during the second ODI against Sri Lanka. The hosts will try their best to shrug off the memory of the whitewash Sri Lanka handed them in the just concluded three-match ODI series, according to a news agency.
