Bangladesh, South Korea ink aid framework
Tuesday, 18 March 2014
South Korea and Bangladesh have agreed on a ‘framework’ which would further strengthen development cooperation between the two countries.
In an effort to give the existing cooperation a fresh boost, Economic Relations Division Secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin and Korean ambassador Lee Yun-young signed an agreement at the former’s office Tuesday, according to a news agency.
The new agreement, its development arm Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said, would “consolidate” its programmes aimed at poverty alleviation and economic development.
The framework would also help South Korea to increase its aid volume to Bangladesh, a press release from Korean embassy said.
