Bangladesh suffer massive defeat against Pakistan

Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 0-10 defeat against former World Cup and Olympic champions Pakistan in a place-deciding match of the 7th Men's Asia Cup Hockey Championship in Chennai Saturday, reports UNB.
Pakistan will now play China today (Sunday) for the 5th position.
In the day's match, Pakistan dominated the first half 4-0 in a one-sided affair.
Waqas Shariff opened the scoring for Pakistan in the 8th minute while Yasir Islam, Tariq Aziz and Muhammad Imran made it 4-0 at the break. In the second half, Abbas Haider and Muhammad Arshad both struck twice while Muhammad Imran and Tariq Aziz scored one goal apiece to complete the winners' tally.
In the group phase, Bangladesh was placed 4th in the six-team Pool B after conceding a humiliating 0-8 goals defeat against Korea while Pakistan was placed third in Pool A after a 3-3 draw with Malaysia Thursday.
Earlier, Bangladesh beat Thailand 13-0 and Sri Lanka 3-2 and lost to both India and China by 0-6 goals.
Meanwhile, in the other classification matches, China thrashed Hong Kong by 6-1 goals while Singapore outplayed Thailand by 4-0 goals.
