Bangladesh Tea Assoc holds 63rd AGM

The 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bangladeshiyo Cha Sangsad (BCS) or Bangladesh Tea Association (BTA), the representative organisation of the owners of tea estates in Bangladesh, was held at Gulshan Club in Dhaka recently, says a press release.
The Association's Chairman Kamran T Rahman chaired the AGM.
Among others, Senior Vice-Chairman Salek Ahmed Abul Masrur, Vice-Chairman Nihad Kabir, Central Executive Committee Members Mirza Salman Ispahani, Mohd Safuan Choudhury, Ardashir Kabir, M Shah Alam, Imran Ahmed, M Atif Khaled, Tahsin Ahmed Choudhury, Saifur Rahman, Manzoor Elahi, Md Mustafizur Rahman, Syed Mahmood Hasan, Kazi Istiaq Ahmad, representatives of different member-tea companies/tea estates and President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Tea Estate Staff Association and Bangladesh Cha Sramik Union were present in the AGM.
Kamran T Rahman presented the Association report on the major activities of the committee for the year 2022-23 at the AGM. The Association's Accounts for the financial year 2022-23 were also approved and auditors were appointed for auditing the accounts of the Association for the financial year 2023-24 at the AGM.
Kamran T Rahman expressed thanks and gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, different ministries/divisions/departments of the government of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Tea Board, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, divisional and district administration, law-enforcing agencies of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions for their continued support, help and co-operation extended to the Association for development of the tea industry. He especially thanked the Members of the Executive Committee, Members of the Sub-Committees and Members of the Association for their help, co-operation and advice in discharging responsibilities of the Chairman in the past year. "We hope, the committee will look into the unresolved issues of the tea industry in the future," he added.
