Bangladesh team emerges plate champion in U-19 WC

Bangladesh U-19 team emerged plate champion to finish ninth in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup beating Ireland by 195 runs at Macklin in New Zealand Thursday, reports UNB.
Put in to bat first, Bangladesh scored a challenging total of 307 for 6 in stipulated 50 overs with Mominul Haque top scored 81 runs while Mahmudul Hasan made 52. Andrew Balbirnie grabbed four wickets for 59 runs.
In reply, Ireland faced initial batting jolt in the face of Alauddin Babu's fierce bowling spell and were all out for 112 runs in 38.5 overs.
Ireland lost five wickets when the team stuck at 39 runs. Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Alauddin Babu claimed three wickets each. Rabbi made hattrick taking 8th, 9th and 10th wicket for Bangladesh.
Mominul Haq was adjudged the player of the match.
