Bangladesh to export ships to Europe

The Bangladeshi shipyards have been receiving shipbuilding export orders from European shipyards in Germany, Holland and Denmark, said a press release.
The shipyards have received shipbuilding orders to the extent of US$ 150 million to date.
The companies that have received export orders are Ananda Shipbuilders and Slipways Ltd. Western Marine (Chittagong Based) and Highspeed Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd.
The cost advantage of building ships in Bangladesh has been acknowledged through three overseas orders from foreign buyers.
It is expected that this sector will be able to contribute immensely to the national economy.
