Bangladesh to host 2031 Cricket World Cup jointly with India
USA co-hosts 2024 T20 WC, Pakistan stage 2025 Champions Trophy

Bangladesh will be the co-host of Men's Cricket World Cup in 2031 along with India, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Tuesday, report agencies.
Earlier, Bangladesh organised 2011 World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka while they successfully arranged 2014 T20 World Cup.
The ICC also confirmed the 14 host countries of the ICC men's white ball events from 2024-2031. Eleven full members and three associate members have been selected to host two ICC Men's Cricket World Cups, four ICC Men's T20 World Cups and two ICC Men's Champions Trophy events.
In the next cycle of global tournaments, which begins with the 2024 T20 World Cup, the ICC has decided to allow smaller countries to have the opportunity to play as hosts.
Along with the USA, Namibia will be hosting their maiden global tournament as co-hosts for the 2027 ODI World Cup with South Africa and Zimbabwe. It will also be the first men's World Cup in Africa since South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe co-hosted the 2003 edition. Also Scotland and Ireland will play co-hosts along with England for the 2030 T20 World Cup.
The biggest news remains the 2025 Champions Trophy that Pakistan will host. It will be the first time the tournament will be played since its abandonment after the 2017 edition. It is also a shot in the arm for the PCB which has worked hard to bring back international cricket to Pakistan after the 2009 terrorist attacks.
The announcement comes after New Zealand and England pulled out of tours to Pakistan in recent months.
The tournament in Pakistan will see the return of the Champions Trophy after an eight-year break, with Pakistan beating India, who will host the 2029 tournament, by 180 runs in the 2017 final.
The USA will host their first major cricket tournament when they jointly put on the 2024 T20 World Cup with West Indies.
The decision, it is learned, is part of the strategic push by the ICC, which has identified the USA as a new market for growth of cricket. Aligned to that is the ICC's keenness to get cricket on the Olympics roster. And keeping in mind the 2028 Summer Olympics are scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, the ICC wanted to host an event in the US market.
"The hosts were selected via a competitive bidding process overseen by a Board sub-committee chaired by Martin Snedden along with Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Skerritt," ICC said in a statement.
"The ICC Board accepted the recommendations of the committee, who conducted a thorough review of each bid along with ICC management. A similar process to identify the hosts for ICC Women's and U-19s events for the next cycle will be undertaken early next year."
The hosting rights, the ICC said, are subject to completion of the host agreements and the ICC will now work closely with the members to finalise arrangements.
