Bangladesh to take part in AFC U-19 Football Championship

Bangladesh U-19 football team will take part in the qualifying round of the AFC U-19 Football Championship to be held November 1-11 in Bangkok this year, reports UNB.
Addressing a press conference at the BFF conference room (Tuesday), National Team Management Committee (NTMC) chairman Badal Roy said they have initially picked up 31 booters for the AFC meet.
He said the 20-member final squad will be announced after the 45-day training camp, which will begin Thursday at BKSP in Savar.
The NTMC chairman said that in the 31-member U-19 squad, there are some good players, who would be especially groomed during the camp for the national team.
Bangladesh has been placed in group E with South Korea, Vietnam, Macao, Laos and hosts Thailand.
The top three teams from each group will qualify for the next round.
Head coach Shafiqul Islam Manik, who was present at the press conference, declined to comment about his target and expectation in the championship. He said: "I will comment on target in the championship after preparing the booters in the camp."
The selected booters have been asked to report to team coordinator Sheikh Mohammad Aslam or chief coach Shafiqul Islam Manik on Thursday at 12 pm at the BFF Bhaban.
Initially selected 31-booters: Nurul Karim (Chittagong), Shakil Ahmed, Saddam Hossain Annie, Nahidul Islam, Rashed Khan Milon, Saddam Hossain, Krishna Kumar, Sui Khai Ching Marma and Mohammad Ali Akbar Kanon (BKSP), Mohammad Sohel (Dhaka Abahani), Robiul Islam Bidyut, Naimur Rahman, Naimul Islam, Emon Mahmud Babu, Salahuddin Ahmed, Mohammad Asif and Shahedul Islam (Dhaka), Mohammad Mofa (Kushtia), Rubel Mollah, Al-Amin, Mohammad Jabed, Habibur Rahman, Mohammad Shohag, Naimul Islam and Mohammad Sohel (Narayanganj), Saidur Rahman Suman (Rangpur), Saikat Bhoumik and Saidul Haq (Feni), Rashed Alam (Gazipur), Sohel Rana (Manikganj) and Shafiqul Islam (Bogra).
