Bangladesh wants to participate in dev efforts in Africa: President

President Iajuddin Ahmed has expressed Bangladesh's eagerness to take part in development efforts of the African continent through sharing experience, skill and expertise, reports UNB.
The President made the statement as newly appointed Ambassador of Libya to Bangladesh Ahmed Ateya Hamd Al-Imam presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban Thursday.
Ahmed highlighted Bangladesh's contribution to ensuring peace and stability in Africa through participation in the UN peacekeeping operations.
Referring to Bangladeshi workers and professionals, particularly doctors, engineers and teachers in Libya, he said they were not only bringing mutual economic benefits, but also laid a solid foundation for amity through people-to-people interaction.
The President stressed on enhancing such participation in the future by making more opportunities for Bangladeshi manpower in Libya and easing Libyan visa formalities for Bangladeshi nationals.
